Hedya KLEIN
Hedya Klein is an artist who works with a combination of media, including installation,
drawing, printing, and animation. In terms of content, the objects she works with are often
everyday objects that occupy her world. She aims to crystalize her daily life and transform
these things by placing them in new and unexpected spaces. In both form and content, her
work has always responded to the environment she finds herself in: she may begin from an
occurrence, a memory, a situation, or a dream. She recently attended
two artist residencies, Aquarellhappening in Tirol, Austria and The Fountainhead Residency
in Miami, Florida. For the past seventeen years, she has been co-hosting international
artists, musicians and performers at a residency in Austria called Hotel Pupik, in
collaboration with Heimo Wallner, the residency founder and curator.
